Message from Fire Chief Christopher Whiteley
Greetings Community,
Since the start of the new year, the WFD team has hit the ground running hard and fast. And I will tell you, there are no signs of us slowing down. Throughout the last several months contracts have been executed for constructing several apparatuses. The specifications for the construction are for the community's needs now, and well into the future. The custom-built apparatuses and EC Units will be in keeping with the most up-to-date technology and equipment. In addition to the fleet improvement, we have increased staffing, and are addressing infrastructure needs in real-time. In short, the community is growing, the footprint is expanding, and we are positioning in advance to accommodate the growth.
The department currently deploys to the needs of the community, and surrounding areas as requested from three locations. Station 1 serves the downtown district, Station 2 responds to the West side of town, and Station 3 responds to the Industrial area. As we continue to grow with the community, we will adjust the resources needed based on statistical data. We envision a deployment model consisting of the following very soon.
I intend to be clear, transparent, and committed to the residents of this community, as well as, the visitors of it. We will remain proactive, in a constant state of readiness, and resilient in carrying out our oath. I look forward to seeing you out in the community and answering any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Christopher Whiteley
